Check whether you can use Claude Duet

Claude Duet is in a research preview for US Claude accounts on a Pro or Max plan. You also need an invitation from the waitlist. Team and Enterprise plans are not included in the preview yet, and invitations arrive in waves, so joining does not guarantee a date.

Duet is available as a standalone app for iPhone and Android, and on the web at claude.ai. It uses the same plan limits as your other Claude chats.

Join the waitlist

  1. Open the Claude Duet product page and choose Join the waitlist.

  2. Enter your name and the email address on your Claude account. Choose your plan and phone type; you can also describe what you would like Duet to help with.

  3. Submit the form and wait for an invitation email. Access opens gradually, so there may be a delay.

  4. When invited, open the email on your phone and follow its setup steps. Use the Apple or Google account linked to the email address you submitted; Duet ties access to that address.

Install the app and sign in

Follow the invitation's link to install Claude Duet on your iPhone or Android phone. Open the app and sign in with the same Claude account you used for the waitlist. It can take a few minutes for access to appear after you accept the invitation. You can also use Duet on the web at claude.ai.

Connect your apps

Claude Duet uses the connectors already set up in your Claude account. In Claude settings, connect services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Slack, QuickBooks, HubSpot, DocuSign, or Calendly. You initiate each connection and can disconnect it at any time. Disconnecting stops future access, but information retained from earlier conversations may remain in memory.

Duet also supports partner services. Stripe works through its own connector for tasks such as checking unpaid invoices; it is separate from Link. Link and Shop Pay are payment options you connect inside Duet. Duet asks you to approve each purchase, which uses a one-time card.

Send a message by typing or recording your request. Duet works on its own computer in the cloud, so it can continue after you close the app. Use the Tasks tab to see work in progress and items that need your input. Larger results, such as research briefs or slide decks, appear in the Make tab for review.

Duet is designed to ask before it sends a message, makes a payment, signs a document, or deletes anything. Review the action and its details before approving it. During the preview, background work counts toward your Pro or Max usage limits, so larger tasks and regular check-ins can use those limits faster.

Fix common access problems

  • The invitation has not arrived: Waitlist access opens in waves. Joining does not promise immediate access or a specific date.

  • The app says you are not eligible: Check that you have a US Claude account on Pro or Max and that your invitation has been accepted.

  • The invite does not match your account: Use the same email for the waitlist and Claude sign-in, and the Apple or Google account linked to that email on your phone.

  • You have a Team or Enterprise plan: Those plans are not part of the current preview.
