How to print from a phone to an Epson printer
Choose Epson Smart Panel for a guided setup or Epson iPrint for documented photo and document printing; connect and configure the printer as directed below.

Install Epson Smart Panel or Epson iPrint from your phone’s app store, then connect the phone and printer to the same wireless network. Epson Smart Panel works with iOS and Android when configured for your printer; the detailed Epson iPrint printer-connection steps below are specifically for Android.
Before you print
Confirm the Epson printer is set up and connected to Wi-Fi. For Smart Panel printing, Epson says the phone must be on the same wireless network and the app must be configured for the printer.
Install an app: Epson Smart Panel printing instructions or Epson iPrint app instructions.
Have the photo or document ready on the phone, or ensure you can access it in a supported cloud account if using iPrint’s cloud-printing option.
The supplied Epson instructions do not specify app prices or which functions, if any, require payment. Check the app-store listing for current pricing and terms; do not assume a feature is free based on this guide.
Print with Epson Smart Panel
iPhone or Android phone
Open Epson Smart Panel and select a print menu on its home screen.
Follow the app’s on-screen instructions to select what to print and begin the job. The exact prompts and available menus can depend on the printer and app configuration.
Wait for the printer to produce the page, then check that the content and paper orientation look right.
Epson’s instructions do not provide a universal Smart Panel menu path or detailed file-format list. Use the prompts shown for your product rather than relying on menu names from another printer model. See the Epson Smart Panel instructions for the stated network and setup requirements.
Print with Epson iPrint
Select the printer on Android
Open Epson iPrint.
Tap Printer is not selected. Tap here to select a printer.
Tap your printer on the Local tab. The phone and printer must be connected to the same wireless network.
If the printer is missing, check that both are on the same network and tap Search to try again. Epson’s Android instructions also describe Manual IP and Wi-Fi Direct Setup as alternatives. Manual IP requires the printer’s IP address; Wi-Fi Direct setup varies according to whether the printer has an LCD screen. Follow the prompts shown in the app.
These printer-selection labels and connection alternatives are documented for Android. The supplied material does not confirm that the same menu path appears on iPhone.
Print a document or photo
On the iPrint home screen, tap Print Documents for a Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file, or a PDF. Locate and tap the file.
For a picture, tap Print Photos, open an album, and select one or more pictures.
Review the print settings. Epson’s iPrint instructions say settings such as paper size and print quality can be changed before printing; for photos, you can also adjust cropping and orientation.
Tap Print. Check the printer’s output for the expected pages or photos.
For example, to print a PDF saved on the phone, choose Print Documents, locate the PDF, review the settings, and tap Print. The app’s exact file-location options may vary by device.
If the printer does not appear or print
Printer not listed in iPrint: Confirm phone and printer use the same wireless network, then tap Search on the Local tab. On Android, try Manual IP if you know the printer’s IP address, or follow Wi-Fi Direct Setup in the app.
Smart Panel cannot find or use the printer: Confirm the phone is on the same wireless network and that Smart Panel has been configured for that Epson product. Follow the app’s on-screen setup prompts.
A file will not print: In iPrint, use Print Documents for supported Office files or PDFs, and Print Photos for supported image files. Epson lists JPG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, and PNG for photo printing. If the app cannot access a file, choose a supported file stored where the app can locate it.
Settings or menus differ: App instructions and connection choices can depend on the phone and printer. Consult the Epson iPrint help page or your printer’s model-specific documentation rather than guessing at a menu path.
Verify the job
Check the printer’s output tray for the pages or photos you selected. If nothing prints, confirm the correct printer was selected and retry after checking the network or app setup above. Review the paper size, orientation, and print quality before sending the job again.
