How to Connect Bluetooth Headphones to a Samsung TV
Put your headphones in pairing mode, then select them from your Samsung TV’s Bluetooth Speaker List.

How to Connect Bluetooth Headphones to a Samsung TV
Check that your TV supports Bluetooth
If your TV came with a Samsung Smart Remote, Samsung says it supports Bluetooth. Otherwise, open Settings, choose Sound, then Sound Output. If Bluetooth Speaker List appears, the TV supports Bluetooth headphones. Menu labels and paths vary by model; consult the Samsung guide to connecting Bluetooth devices or your TV’s user manual if you can’t find the setting.
If Bluetooth Speaker List does not appear, the TV may not support Bluetooth. Samsung says a Bluetooth adapter connected to the TV’s 3.5 mm audio port or standard left/right AUX audio ports may be an alternative. Check your TV’s available ports and the adapter’s instructions before buying or connecting one.
Prepare the headphones
Charge or power on the headphones.
Put them in Bluetooth pairing mode and make sure they are discoverable. The button sequence differs by headphone model, so use the headphones’ manual if needed.
Keep the headphones near the TV while pairing.
Headphones designed only for mobile devices may not pair with a TV, even if they use Bluetooth.
Pair the headphones with the TV
Open the TV’s Bluetooth audio device list. On most models, the path is Menu > Settings > Sound > Sound Output > Bluetooth Speaker List. Some models use a different menu layout.
Wait for the TV to scan. When the headphone name appears, highlight it and select it. On supported interfaces, the device may show Needs Pairing; choose Pair and Connect.
Follow any prompts shown on the TV. When pairing finishes, select the headphones as the sound output if they are not selected automatically.
Expected result: The headphones appear in the TV’s Bluetooth audio list as paired or connected, and TV audio plays through them.
Confirm the connection
Play a program or other TV content and listen through the headphones. If you hear the audio, the connection is working. If the TV still plays through its speakers or you hear nothing in the headphones, check Sound Output and select the headphones from the list again.
You can pair more than one Bluetooth audio device, but Samsung notes that, in the usual setup, only one device outputs audio at a time. Some newer Samsung TVs offer Multi Connect for audio on two Bluetooth devices at once: choose Multi Connect when connecting the second device, if that option appears. Availability depends on the TV model; don’t assume the option is present on every set.
Troubleshoot common problems
The headphones don’t appear in the list
Confirm they are in pairing mode and discoverable. Use their manual for the model-specific procedure.
Move them closer to the TV and check that they are powered on.
Check TV compatibility. Some Bluetooth headphones are made for mobile devices only and may not pair with a TV.
If Bluetooth Speaker List is missing, check the TV’s manual or Samsung’s Bluetooth connection support guide.
The sound cuts out, hums, or is out of sync
Samsung notes that distance can cause disconnections, and that walls, corners, partitions, or other obstructions can interfere with Bluetooth. Keep the headphones and TV closer together with fewer obstructions. Lip-sync delays may also occur with Bluetooth audio; Samsung’s guidance does not specify a universal fix, so check the manuals for your TV and headphones for model-specific options.
You want audio on the TV speakers and a Bluetooth device
For compatible Bluetooth hearing aids, some Samsung TVs support Multi-output Audio, which can play through the TV speaker and the hearing aid together. Samsung says this feature is unavailable on 2014 and earlier TV models. On 2020-and-newer Smart TVs, the listed path is Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Accessibility > Multi-output Audio. This is an accessibility feature for compatible devices, not a general guarantee that TV speakers and ordinary headphones can play simultaneously.
If your menus differ or pairing remains unavailable, use Samsung Support for model-specific help.
